Import Operations Specialist Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Import Operations Specialist to manage import shipments from arrival through final delivery while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and company procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple customers and shipments independently while providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Manage assigned import accounts and shipments from arrival through final delivery. Prepare, review, and process customs entries and related documentation accurately and timely. Manage in-bond shipments, including 7512 filings, CFS, and bonded warehouse shipments. Review documentation for Customs and other government agency requirements and resolve discrepancies. Coordinate ocean, air, drayage, LTL, warehousing, CFS, and bonded warehouse services. Obtain rates and prepare accurate, competitive import and transportation quotes. Monitor shipment milestones, cargo release, and delivery to ensure timely movement. Communicate shipment status, delays, and exceptions to customers and business partners. Manage a variety of commodities, including general cargo, perishables, steel and aluminum subject to Section 232, and time-sensitive shipments. Maintain accurate shipment records and collaborate with operations, brokerage, accounting, compliance, warehouses, carriers, and other service providers. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or import operations. Strong experience preparing and reviewing customs entries and managing imports through final delivery. Knowledge of 7512 filings, CFS operations, and bonded warehouse procedures. Experience preparing transportation and logistics quotes. Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and trade compliance. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision. Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Preferred: Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), experience with Section 232 steel/aluminum shipments, tariff classification, trade compliance, and/or perishable commodities.
