Import Operations Coordinator
AGS LogisticsAbout the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Import Operations Coordinator to join our growing logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and entry-level candidates looking to begin and develop their careers in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, and international transportation. The Import Operations Coordinator will support the efficient movement and importation of shipments while ensuring timely delivery, accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and a high level of customer service. The role will provide hands-on exposure to shipment coordination, customs clearance, air cargo operations, transportation, and international logistics. Recent graduates and candidates with limited professional experience are encouraged to apply. Training and guidance will be provided to help develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the role. Key Responsibilities Open and maintain shipment files in the designated logistics system, ensuring information and documentation are complete and accurate. Monitor import shipments from arrival through final delivery and provide timely status updates to customers and overseas agents. Verify cargo arrival information and coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate timely customs clearance. Coordinate with airlines, cargo terminals, ground handlers, trucking companies, bonded warehouses, CFS facilities, and other logistics partners to support the efficient movement of freight. Arrange pickups and final deliveries and monitor shipments to ensure service commitments are met. Communicate proactively with customers regarding shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, customs issues, and other operational matters. Assist with reviewing and maintaining shipment documentation and records in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. Assist with resolving customer, carrier, and vendor issues while maintaining professional and effective communication. Prepare transaction and shipment reports to support accurate and timely customer billing. Maintain accurate shipment status information within applicable logistics management systems. Learn and support bonded cargo, customs clearance, and other import-related processes as applicable. Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and department managers to support daily operational requirements. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Recent graduates and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; previous freight forwarding experience is not required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration , or a related field is preferred but not required. Previous internship, coursework, or exposure to logistics, supply chain, transportation, freight forwarding, air cargo, or international trade is a plus. Familiarity with CBP import procedures, customs clearance, or import documentation is a plus but not required. Exposure to airline cargo terminals, ground handlers, bonded warehouses, CFS operations, or bonded cargo is a plus. Experience or familiarity with e-commerce logistics is a plus. Experience with CargoWise, Magaya, or similar logistics systems is advantageous but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Proactive approach to problem-solving with a willingness to learn. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
