Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM and two Saturdays a month from 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position offers a competitive hourly wage between $22 and $25. Overtime is compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires typically earn between $57,800 and $65,600 annually, subject to experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and process freight rate requests, ensuring shipping records are up-to-date.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to freight and Ocean Bill of Lading (OBL).
• Review, approve, and process accounts payable freight invoices accurately.
• Maintain thorough accounts payable statements with shipping lines and freight forwarders.
• Assist with any booking issues and destination changes promptly.
• Support Senior Associates and Management with additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in international logistics, specifically with ocean import shipments.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with shipping lines, US Customs, ports, trucking companies, and freight forwarders.
• Aptitude for analyzing cost-related data and proposing more efficient options.
• Knowledge of carrier contracts and surcharges including bunker and low sulfur fees.
• Positive communication style with a focus on clarity.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Goal-oriented with strong mathematical skills for quick calculations.
• Competent in PC usage, especially in a multi-window environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word, with advanced skills in Excel preferred.
