About the Opportunity: The IMPORT / EXPORT SPECIALIST role is focused on managing and facilitating the consistent flow of international shipments to and from the US. This position plays a key role in coordinating with internal and external partners to optimize logistics, control costs, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of goods. The role contributes to improving supply chain efficiency and supports the organization’s global transportation operations. Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal and external partners to limit supply chain costs and risks and drive process improvements Manage relationships with import/export vendors including ocean and dray carriers, conducting periodic performance reviews Assist in leading requests for proposals related to international logistics and drayage vendors Coordinate with global transportation teams to forecast container needs, select preferred carriers, and manage allocations Handle claims related to damages in international shipping Serve as the internal subject matter expert on international logistics processes and industry trends Participate in relevant seminars and conferences to stay current on international logistics Lead projects to improve logistics processes and end-to-end execution Resolve problems independently considering business and customer impacts Work with cross-functional teams to identify optimal routing solutions to avoid delays and reduce costs Analyze port costs and implement practices to mitigate delays and charges Develop procedures to execute logistics operations efficiently Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years experience in international logistics working with port terminals, dray carriers, and steamship lines Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word Strong skills in relationship building, facilitation, implementation, and influence Effective communication skills Ability to work remotely during standard business hours Pay Range and Compensation Package: Salary range: $62,659.00 to $78,854.00 per year Bonus eligibility: Yes The pay range is an estimate and final compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and location Benefits & Perks: 401(k) plan with company match Healthcare coverage Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
