About the Role BGI Worldwide Logistics is seeking an experienced Import/Export Operations Coordinator to support international air and ocean freight operations. This role works with global suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and overseas partners to monitor shipments, manage documentation, resolve exceptions, and help ensure timely delivery. import_export operations coordi… Key Responsibilities Coordinate air and ocean import and export shipments from booking through final delivery and documentation Prepare, review, and submit international shipping and customs documentation, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and SED/AES filings Maintain tariff classifications for imported and exported goods Support compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions programs, DHS/TSA requirements, and U.S. Customs standards Coordinate with carriers, NVOCCs, airlines, and logistics providers to secure bookings, negotiate rates, confirm space, and support timely shipment execution Work with customs brokers to support smooth clearance and AES compliance Monitor shipments through transit points and provide status updates to customers, account managers, and overseas partners Resolve shipment delays, customs holds, documentation issues, and other exceptions Perform daily audits to identify and correct potential shipping errors Monitor carrier and supplier performance and escalate service failures when necessary Maintain accurate shipment data in the TMS and ensure records are complete and audit-ready Assist with air and ocean rate quoting and routing options Support invoice verification and billing discrepancy resolution Coordinate back-to-back and cross-trade shipments Maintain organized shipment files and support process improvements import_export operations coordi… import_export operations coordi… Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field preferred 2–4 years of international freight forwarding experience with hands-on air and ocean import/export responsibility Working knowledge of EAR, ITAR, AES/SED filing, and OFAC sanctions compliance Understanding of ISF requirements and international shipping documentation Experience preparing and reviewing B/Ls, AWBs, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and Dangerous Goods declarations as applicable Familiarity with Incoterms Experience with TMS platforms and freight forwarding software such as CargoWise, Magaya, or similar Strong organizational, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple active shipments accurately and meet deadlines import_export operations coordi… Preferred CargoWise experience Familiarity with Letters of Credit and international banking documentation Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Mandarin NCBFAA, IATA, or other relevant freight/logistics certifications import_export operations coordi… Apply Learn more and apply through the BGI Worldwide Logistics Careers p…
