Duties Prepare and submit customs entries for imported shipments in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with trade laws, customs regulations, and transportation safety standards throughout the import process. Manage communication with customs authorities and brokerage firms to facilitate smooth clearance procedures. Oversee customs brokerage activities, verifying documentation accuracy and completeness to prevent delays or penalties. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in customs policies and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Coordinate with logistics teams to schedule shipments and resolve any customs-related issues promptly. Monitor the status of shipments through customs clearance processes and provide updates to relevant stakeholders. Assist in internal audits related to import compliance and prepare reports as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in import customs entry writing or a similar role within international trade or logistics. Strong knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and brokerage management. Familiarity with transportation safety regulations applicable to imported goods. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in documentation and submissions. Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and communicate effectively with customs authorities and internal teams. Proficiency in using customs software systems and other relevant logistics tools. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Relevant certifications or training in customs procedures or trade compliance are preferred.
