Import Coordinator
Mercury PaperMercury Paper is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Import Coordinator to manage the movement of imported materials from origin to final delivery. This role works closely with internal departments and logistics partners to ensure shipments arrive on time, documentation is accurate, and supply chain operations run efficiently. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and track import shipments from origin through final delivery. Communicate with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, ports, rail providers, warehouses, and production facilities. Review and maintain import documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and delivery records. Monitor shipment status, delivery timelines, container availability, and transportation activity. Manage and help prevent detention, demurrage, storage, and other avoidable logistics costs. Maintain accurate shipment records and SAP data, including purchase orders and goods receipts. Investigate and resolve documentation, freight, delivery, and invoice discrepancies. Prepare reports and provide updates on shipment performance, delays, and operational issues. Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Qualifications & Skills 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, import coordination, freight forwarding, or a related field preferred. Working knowledge of ocean imports, rail/intermodal transportation, drayage, ports, and domestic delivery operations. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business software. Experience with SAP/S4HANA or another ERP system preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Education Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
