The Trade Imports/Export Coordinator is responsible for assisting in various tasks to ensure that both import and export shipments arrive and compliant. The coordinator will is responsible for data entry and compilation of export documentation for the daily inter-company shipments to the MADC, all affiliated companies and all manual shipments (e.g. promotional items). They will obtain customs information and compile the paperwork for special shipments. They will assist with auditing of brokerage charges to ensure cost savings, auditing import files for customs compliance to avoid customs fines and penalties, and to help with the tracking and tracing of carrier shipments to confirm clearance and arrival. They will assist on special projects as required and support on a variety of import tasks. The Import/Export Coordinator will need to operate as a productive member of the Memphis Area Distribution Center (MADC) Team, as well as the Global Trade Compliance Team. Strong communication skills, import regulatory knowledge, process re-engineering, and project coordination are essential skills required for this position. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include but are not limited to the following: · Audit each import shipment for HTSUS classification, country of origin, valuation, etc. · Request or prepare completed special program forms (FCC, IC, etc.) as needed. · Implement and manage the entry correction process. · Respond to inquiries from broker and express courier personnel regarding imported shipments. · Monitor broker performance and provide a monthly “report card.”. · Provide statistical data regarding import shipments monthly. · Maintain filing system per U.S. Customs recordkeeping procedures. · Answer questions and provide training regarding import matters, as required. · Operate as part of the MADC Trade Compliance Group, the Corporate Trade Compliance Team, and the Global Trade Compliance Management Team. · Provide customer service to all vendors, suppliers, and agents to facilitate the required objectives. · Distribute documents and information, as needed. · Keep current on Customs’ regulations through monitoring websites and publications. · Provide impact analysis on new and proposed regulations, as requested. · Plan and implement process improvements necessary to meet new or modified regulations, as requested.
