We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and highly organized Import and Export Custom Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. This role will be responsible for coordinating international shipments from origin to final delivery and ensuring that goods move efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with international freight, customs documentation, freight forwarders, Clear Customer and shipment tracking. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. Key Responsibilities Coordinate international shipments via ocean, air, and other transportation methods. Manage the end-to-end shipment process, including booking, pickup, export documentation, customs clearance, transportation, import clearance, and final delivery. Work closely with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, overseas agents, warehouses, and other logistics partners. Monitor shipment schedules, transit times, customs clearance, and delivery status. Proactively identify and resolve shipment issues, including delays, customs holds, damaged or missing cargo, and delivery exceptions. Prepare, review, and maintain shipping and customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, and related documents. Verify freight invoices and assist with tracking and controlling international logistics costs. Maintain accurate shipment records and provide regular reports on shipment status, costs, transit times, and exceptions. Support logistics vendor management and evaluate service quality, pricing, and performance. Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and shipment execution. Assist with process improvements and identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, service levels, and cost effectiveness. Perform other duties related to international logistics and supply chain operations as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 3 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, import/export, supply chain, or a related field. Working knowledge of international ocean and air freight operations. Familiarity with import/export procedures, customs documentation, and Incoterms such as EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, and DDP. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard business software. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with U.S. imports and international customs clearance. Experience in e-commerce, consumer products, manufacturing, retail, or distribution. Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean carriers, or airlines. Experience with ERP, WMS, TMS, or other logistics/supply chain software. Experience supporting international shipments to or from the U.S., Asia, or other global markets. Strong analytical skills and experience working with logistics and transportation data.
