Ice Cream Service Manager

Job Summary Bklyn Cream is seeking an organized, motivated, and experienced Ice Cream Operations Manager to oversee daily business operations and ensure efficient service across all areas of the ice cream shop. This role is responsible for supervising employees, coordinating production and inventory, maintaining product quality, managing customer service standards, and supporting business performance. The ideal candidate has strong leadership and operational management skills, understands food service procedures, and can create a positive customer experience while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily ice cream shop operations, including opening, closing, preparation, and customer service activities. Supervise and coordinate employees to maintain efficient workflows and consistent service standards. Manage staff schedules, assign responsibilities, and monitor employee performance. Coordinate ice cream preparation, product display, storage, and replenishment. Ensure product quality, freshness, consistency, and attractive presentation. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of ice cream, toppings, cones, cups, packaging, and other supplies. Maintain relationships with suppliers and communicate purchasing requirements. Monitor sales performance, operating expenses, and inventory costs. Implement procedures to reduce product waste and improve operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service-related concerns professionally. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout preparation, storage, service, and customer areas. Train employees on product knowledge, customer service, food handling, and operating procedures. Coordinate promotional activities, seasonal products, and special customer orders. Prepare operational reports and communicate business needs to ownership or senior management. Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, product offerings, and overall shop performance. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; additional business or hospitality training preferred. Previous experience in food service, retail operations, hospitality, or a similar management position. Experience supervising employees and coordinating daily business activities. Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, and basic cost control. Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures. Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required. Preferred Skills Experience managing an ice cream shop, dessert business, café, or food service establishment. Knowledge of ice cream products, toppings, portion control, and product presentation. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic sales reporting. Ability to train, motivate, and support a customer-focused team. Strong planning and decision-making skills. Ability to identify operational challenges and implement practical improvements. Work Environment Fast-paced ice cream shop and customer service environment. Regular interaction with employees, customers, suppliers, and management. Responsibilities include both administrative tasks and hands-on operational support. Frequent movement between service counters, preparation areas, and storage spaces.
