Who You Are : You're a technically minded problem solver with a background in mechanical HVAC systems, and you like helping customers find the right equipment and explaining it clearly. You're detail-oriented and take pride in getting selections, quotes, and paperwork right the first time. You stay organized, balance several projects at once, and prioritize so nothing slips. You listen to customers, resolve their problems to their satisfaction, and know when an issue needs to be escalated. You're comfortable presenting products and solutions, and you're a team player who builds strong working relationships with contractors, engineers, end users, manufacturers, vendors, and your own coworkers. You plan and organize your own work and don't need close supervision. What You'll Do : The HVAC Inside Sales and Support Associate works alongside our Outside Sales team in the HVAC Department. You'll make equipment selections, prepare proposals, offer technical support, and manage project details from the first quote through project completion. You'll support a wide range of hydronic and environmental equipment and services, including cooling towers, boilers, pumps, filtration, heat pumps, chillers, hydronic accessories, water treatment, cooling tower repairs, VRF and split systems, indoor air quality products, humidification systems, rooftop units, DOAS systems, and packaged systems. · Build deep technical knowledge of the hydronic and environmental products Hedrick represents and how they're applied. · Prepare proposals, technical documentation, and submittal drawings for customers. · Answer technical support and application calls on hydronic and environmental HVAC products. · Help contractors, engineers, and end users with equipment selection and design, and support them through installation, pre-startup, startup, and post-startup. · Support cooling tower repair projects by quoting parts and labor and coordinating the work. · Place orders with manufacturers and suppliers, and keep project data up to date in Hedrick's software. · Coordinate and schedule equipment startups with our field technicians and customers. · Compile and enter startup, warranty, and back-charge paperwork into Hedrick and manufacturer software. · Work with factory technical support to resolve application, design, technical, service, and warranty issues. · Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, coworkers, manufacturers, and vendors. · Give contractors and end users technical and service training as needed, including occasional site visits. · Help the Parts Department with warehouse work, parts sales, and inventory management as needed. · Attend customer events, such as Lunch & Learns, when approved by your manager. What We’re Looking For in a Candidate: · A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience · Three to five years of experience with mechanical HVAC systems · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and content management systems · Ability to run manufacturer equipment selection programs · Strong customer service skills and good judgment about when to escalate · Accurate work and strong organization, with the ability to prioritize sev…
