This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources (HR) operations while helping shape a workplace where every mind can thrive.

This intern will be part of the Neurodiversity@Hearst program, a paid, full-time 15-week internship program for neurodivergent/autistic talent interested in enhancing their technical skills. From June 2nd – September 11th, 2026, interns will participate in an immersive, hands-on experience at a leading global, diversified media, information, and services company. This cohort will include interns at Hearst Television, Fitch Group, Hearst Magazines and Hearst Corporate. This role will be hybrid out of our NYC office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and update employee records under guidance of your manager
  • Review internal documents and handbooks for grammar, formatting, and clarity
  • Assist with employment verification requests, help review and organize messages in the HR mailbox
  • Support the HR team by helping organize and review employment verification records (I-9 forms), checking for completeness, and preparing materials for audits—while learning about compliance, documentation standards, and confidentiality
  • Coordinate aspects of employee offboarding, including equipment returns and deprovisioning
  • Document HR processes and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify and update frequently asked questions (FAQs) for internal knowledge bases
  • Refresh and organize content on internal HR platforms, such as the People & Culture intranet page
  • Test new system integrations, including chatbots and HR tool enhancements
  • Manage and organize SharePoint folders to align with document retention requirements
  • Monitor and respond to ServiceNow HR tickets


What We’re Looking For

  • Organized and detail-oriented with data and employee information
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of internal data and documents
  • Interest in inclusive workplace practices and employee experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Works with teammates in a way that supports shared goals, and is open to clear, respectful feedback—both giving and receiving
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the role
  • A candidate who is able to be in-office 4 days per week in New York City


The range in salary for this role is $27 - $32 an hour. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
