This role is critical to maintaining a safe, compliant, drug-free, and productive workplace while ensuring employees are supported throughout their employment journey. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with employee leaves of absence, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration, and workers’ compensation claims. We are looking for someone who is organized, approachable, accountable, and confident balancing employee support with company policies and operational needs. Key Responsibilities Leave Management, FMLA & Workers’ Compensation Administer and coordinate employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, personal leaves, medical leaves, and other applicable leave programs. Manage the leave process from initial employee notification through documentation, follow-up, return-to-work coordination, and case closure. Ensure leave requests are handled accurately, confidentially, and in compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws. Track leave eligibility, required notices, certifications, deadlines, intermittent leave usage, and return-to-work dates. Coordinate with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, benefits partners, and HR leadership as appropriate. Manage workers’ compensation claims in partnership with insurance carriers, claims administrators, and operational leadership. Support injury reporting, claim documentation, medical follow-up, return-to-work plans, and transitional duty opportunities. Monitor open claims and leave cases to ensure timely communication, appropriate documentation, and consistent follow-through. Partner with Safety and Operations to identify trends, support injury prevention, and reduce avoidable lost-time incidents. Maintain accurate, confidential employee medical and leave records, separate from general personnel files as required. Assist with incident documentation, workplace injury follow-up, and safety-related HR processes. Partner with Safety and Operations to promote employee accountability, safe work practices, and compliance with company policies. Help ensure policies are applied consistently, fairly, and in accordance with applicable requirements. Employee Relations & Company Culture Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR-related matters. Provide guidance to supervisors and managers regarding employee relations, attendance concerns, performance issues, and policy interpretation. Support investigations, document findings, and recommend appropriate next steps in partnership with HR leadership. Promote a respectful, professional, and accountable workplace. Reinforce NOTS Logistics’ core values through daily interactions, employee communication, and consistent policy application.
