Southeast Michigan still builds a big share of the vehicles sold in North America, and the supply chain around those plants is enormous. Assembly lines in Dearborn, Warren, Sterling Heights, Lansing and Flint pull in parts, tooling, dies and conveyors from hundreds of suppliers. West Michigan has its own base, with office furniture around Grand Rapids and Holland, food processing, and fruit farms

along the lakeshore. And the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit ranks among the busiest truck crossings into Canada. That makes Michigan strong country for urgent automotive work. When a line is short a fixture or a machine part, nobody waits to fill a semi, so a pickup with a gooseneck gets the call. Lanes run down I-75 toward Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, where several new auto and battery plants have gone up, and across I-94 toward Chicago. Inside the state, I-96 links Detroit with Lansing and Grand Rapids, and I-69 heads to Indiana. Over a four-week run you'll leave the Great Lakes far behind, then return for your week at home. Two seasonal things to know. Lake-effect snow off Lake Michigan hits the west side of the state hard from November on, and every spring Michigan's frost laws lower allowable weights on many roads until the ground firms up. Keep both in mind, then send your application through the form below. Pay is a percentage of gross, not a per-mile rate; active drivers average $9,000 weekly gross. No CDL is needed for the pickup position, and the company provides the truck.
