Hotshot Owner Operator

Job Summary As a Hotshot Owner Operator, you’ll transport freight safely and reliably using your own commercial vehicle and equipment. You’ll plan route driving and over-the-road (OTR) trips with GPS navigation, coordinate pickups and deliveries, and keep cargo secure from origin to destination. This role calls for sound judgment, careful handling, and consistent compliance with applicable transportation rules. Responsibilities Operate a commercial truck, tractor-trailer, or other suitable hotshot setup; use a manual transmission when required. Plan routes, manage delivery driving schedules, and communicate shipment updates. Load and unload freight, including manual handling and truck loading and unloading; secure cargo appropriately. Transport freight such as automobiles, and use flatbed, refrigerated trailer, or tanker equipment when the load and equipment require it. Follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hazardous materials regulations for applicable Hazmat or dangerous goods loads. Your impact: Safe, compliant handling helps customers receive freight in good condition and on schedule. Experience Required: Valid commercial driving credentials and experience with commercial truck driving, truck driving, and delivery driver duties. Required: Ability to drive safely, handle freight, and meet applicable vehicle and cargo requirements. Preferred: Experience with OTR routes, automobile transportation, logistics cargo handling, route driving, flatbed, refrigerated trailer, or tanker freight. Preferred: Hazmat qualifications and familiarity with dangerous goods requirements, as applicable to assigned loads.
