Responsibilities Safely operate your own box truck or hotshot vehicle to pick up and deliver goods according to scheduled routes. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement. Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and safety protocols during all driving activities. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly. Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during pickups and deliveries. Utilize mobile devices for route navigation, delivery updates, and documentation purposes. Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times for compliance and reporting. Requirements Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or courier services with a focus on box trucks or van drivers. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle size. Demonstrated ability to manually handle heavy lifting using proper lifting practices; experience with pallet jacks or material handling equipment is a plus. Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment operation, and warehouse experience is advantageous. Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safe driving practices in a commercial setting. Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety standards; experience with heavy lifting required. Strong customer service skills with professional communication abilities. Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and delivery documentation. Physical stamina for manual handling tasks including moving items and operating heavy equipment when necessary.
