Horticultural Purchaser

Gratr Landscapes| San Antonio, TX | Full-time | About us Gratr Landscapes is a landscape construction company serving the San Antonio/ Austin area. We’re looking for a purchaser to join our team and help us source healthy, locally suited plants and trees at fair prices. What you’ll do Source plants, trees, and supplies from regional growers and suppliers Place and track purchase orders, and coordinate deliveries Compare quotes and negotiate pricing and terms Work with our sales and yard teams to plan orders around seasonal demand Check incoming stock for quality and report problems to suppliers Keep accurate inventory, pricing, and vendor records Build good relationships with growers and visit them regularly What we’re looking for Basic knowledge of plants and trees (you don’t need to be an expert) Comfort with numbers, spreadsheets, and ordering or inventory systems Strong communication and negotiation skills Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Willingness to work outdoors and lift or move plant material as needed Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation [adjust as needed] Nice to have, but not required Experience in purchasing, inventory, or sales, in any industry Familiarity with Texas plants, such as natives, oaks, and drought-tolerant species Horticulture coursework or Master Gardener experience Training is part of this job We hire for reliability and curiosity, and we teach the rest. After your interview, we’ll build a training plan around what you already know and where you want to grow.
