Home Heating Oil Delivery Driver – CDL / Hazmat / Tanker

MacFarlane Energy is looking for an experienced, dependable Home Heating Oil Delivery Driver to join our team. We are a well-established, family-owned Massachusetts energy company serving customers throughout Eastern Massachusetts. We are looking for professional drivers who take pride in their work, put safety first, and understand the importance of delivering fuel safely and reliably to our customers. This is a full-time position with strong winter hours, overtime opportunities, and year-round employment for the right candidate. Responsibilities Safely deliver home heating oil to residential and commercial customers. Complete assigned delivery routes efficiently and accurately. Operate heating oil delivery trucks in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies. Properly connect hoses, make deliveries, confirm gallons delivered, and secure equipment after each delivery. Follow all required procedures for safe fuel delivery, including confirming proper fill locations and customer tanks. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Complete required electronic and written delivery documentation. Communicate with dispatch regarding route changes, customer issues, access problems, weather conditions, or equipment concerns. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with customers. Follow company policies regarding distracted driving, mobile-device use, vehicle safety, and accident prevention. Keep assigned vehicles and equipment clean and properly maintained. Report vehicle or safety concerns immediately. Assist with additional delivery or terminal responsibilities when necessary. Required Qualifications Candidates must have: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement. Tanker endorsement. Valid DOT medical card. Clean and acceptable driving record. Ability to meet all DOT and company driver qualification requirements. Ability to safely operate a commercial heating oil delivery vehicle. Ability to pull and handle fuel delivery hose and work outdoors in winter weather. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong commitment to safe driving and safe fuel-delivery practices. Ability to pass required pre-employment screening and drug/alcohol testing. Preferred Experience Previous home heating oil delivery experience is strongly preferred. Petroleum, propane, fuel delivery, or commercial tanker experience is a plus. Familiarity with Greater Boston, South Shore, MetroWest, or surrounding Eastern Massachusetts communities is helpful. Experience using electronic routing, GPS, tablets, or delivery software is a plus. Heating oil delivery is seasonal by nature, and drivers should expect: Additional hours during the winter heating season. Overtime opportunities during periods of high demand.
