Local CDL-A Flatbed Driver – Romeoville, IL Terminal Terminal & Route Logistics Base Location: Chicago Tube & Iron terminal in Romeoville, IL. Route & Freight: Regional flatbed deliveries across IA and IL, hauling raw steel tubing and conduit in Conestoga or pup trailers. Nearly 100% preloaded (10% drop/hook, 90% live unloads; no driver unload). Averaging 170 miles and 6 stops daily. Weekly Pay & Financial Structure Earnings: Averages $76,200 yearly ($1,465 weekly). Pay Scale: $0.55 CPM base plus a $200 weekly attendance bonus and $20–$22 stop pay. Extras: Paid detention ($22/hr), breakdowns/weather ($15/hr), hourly work ($18/hr), holidays ($200/day), training ($200/day), safety training ($20/hr), off-account runs ($225–$300/day), and trainer pay ($75/day). Shift Schedule & Home Time Workweek: Monday through Friday with weekends off. Timing: Starts around 5:00 AM (2-hour flexibility window) with an 8-hour daily minimum. Home Time: Daily resets at home. Equipment Specifications Truck & Trailer: Manual day cabs pulling 48-foot split-axle flatbeds, Conestogas, or pups (manual restriction required; no slip-seating).
