Position Overview We are currently looking for an experienced 5-Ton Truck Owner-Operator to join our Edmonton delivery operations. The ideal candidate must own or have reliable access to a 5-ton truck and have previous experience in commercial deliveries, freight handling, and local transportation. IMPORTANT: Applicants MUST have their own 5-ton truck or confirmed access to one. This is an owner-operator position, not a company-driver position. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a 5-ton truck for local deliveries and pickups throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas. Transport parcels, palletized freight, and other commercial shipments. Ensure timely pickups and deliveries according to assigned schedules. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload shipments to prevent damage. Maintain accurate delivery records, including Proof of Delivery (POD). Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery updates, delays, or operational issues. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and ensure the truck remains in safe operating condition. Follow all applicable transportation regulations, safety standards, and company procedures. Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers. Requirements Must own or have reliable access to a 5-ton truck. Valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle and a clean driving record. Previous experience operating a 5-ton truck in commercial deliveries or freight transportation. Good knowledge of Edmonton and surrounding areas. Experience handling palletized freight and operating a power tailgate is an asset. Ability to safely handle freight and perform loading/unloading duties when required. Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Ability to provide vehicle registration, commercial insurance, and other required documentation.
