Role Description: The Hiring Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Acton, ON. This position is responsible for coordinating daily freight movements, assigning drivers and equipment, and ensuring that FTL, LTL, temperature-controlled, and hazmat loads are scheduled and dispatched in a timely and compliant manner. The role includes monitoring routes and load statuses, responding to driver and customer inquiries, and updating transportation management systems with accurate, real-time information. The Hiring Dispatcher will also support staffing needs by identifying driver requirements, assisting with driver onboarding coordination, and communicating expectations clearly to new team members. Daily tasks include collaborating with operations and warehouse teams, managing documentation, addressing issues as they arise, and maintaining strong, professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications Experience in transportation or logistics dispatching, preferably with FTL, LTL, temperature-controlled, and hazmat operations. Strong skills in route planning, load scheduling, and real-time problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with dispatch or transportation management systems, and comfort using standard office software for data entry and communication. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers, with a focus on clarity and professionalism. Ability to work on-site full-time in Acton, ON, demonstrating reliability, attention to detail, and effective time management. Knowledge of basic transportation regulations and safety practices; experience with hazmat or temperature-controlled freight is an asset. Previous experience supporting hiring, onboarding, or workforce coordination in an operations or logistics environment is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is considered an advantage.
