Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with refrigerated trailers across long-distance routes, ensuring cargo integrity and timely delivery. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and maintain efficiency. Load, secure, and unload freight, including refrigerated goods, while following proper manual handling procedures. Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance. Manage documentation related to freight movement, including delivery logs, load manifests, and inspection reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience driving commercial trucks, especially tractor-trailers with refrigerated or temperature-sensitive cargo. Strong knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures, logistics cargo handling, and freight management. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation accuracy. Ability to handle hazardous materials safely in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Skilled in manual transmission driving and manual handling of cargo for secure loading/unloading. Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure safety standards are met at all times.
