Heavy Truck Diesel Mechanic
EAGLE EQUIPMENT SERVICE 1, CORPJob Description We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and experienced Heavy Truck Diesel Mechanic to join our service team. The successful candidate will perform full-lifecycle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a diverse fleet of commercial trucks and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical aptitude and extensive technical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment from bumper to bumper . Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Troubleshooting Use advanced diagnostic software, scan tools, and testing equipment to accurately identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults. Troubleshoot complex vehicle systems and determine the appropriate repair procedures. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections. Chassis & Powertrain Inspect, repair, and rebuild truck chassis components. Service steering, suspension, braking, drivetrain, and related systems. Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, and other powertrain components. Emissions Systems Diagnose, service, and repair emissions systems. Perform repairs involving EGR systems, EGR coolers, valves, and related components. Follow applicable environmental and safety requirements. PTO & Hydraulic Systems Troubleshoot, install, and repair Power Take-Off (PTO) gearboxes. Diagnose and repair integrated hydraulic systems, including: Hydraulic pumps Cylinders Valves Hoses and fittings Winches Hydraulic controls Electrical & Electronic Systems Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Diagnose and repair 12V and 24V electrical systems. Troubleshoot wiring harnesses, starting and charging systems, sensors, and electronic control modules. Use electrical testing equipment to identify electrical faults. Qualifications & Skills Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic working on Class 6, 7, or 8 heavy-duty trucks. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy truck components. Ability to diagnose problems accurately and complete repairs efficiently. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a service team. Strong commitment to shop safety, quality workmanship, and compliance. Must provide your own basic mechanic hand tools, unless otherwise specified by the company. Vocational/technical school graduates and military veterans with specialized mechanical training are encouraged to apply. Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: Roll-off trucks Waste and recycling equipment Trash compactors Hydraulic systems PTO systems Heavy equipment Welding and fabrication Mobile/field service Preventative maintenance programs Forklift Repair.
