Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heavy Haul Truck Driver role located in Houston, TX. The Heavy Haul Truck Driver operates specialized trucks and trailers to safely transport oversized and heavy freight, including industrial equipment and building materials, to destinations throughout the U.S. Responsibilities include planning routes, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and tarping loads according to company and regulatory standards, and complying with all DOT and company safety requirements. The driver maintains accurate logs and delivery documentation, communicates effectively with dispatch and customers, and represents Packard Transport professionally at all times. The role may involve extended travel, variable schedules, and working in diverse weather and road conditions while upholding high safety and service standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong heavy-haul driving skills, including experience RGN 25 years of age or older • Minimum 12 months of verifiable, incident-free Heavy Haul experience • Minimum 12 months of verifiable Class A driving experience within the previous 3 years • Must meet all DOT requirements and qualifications Candidates should possess load securement and safety skills, including proper use of chains, binders, straps, tarps, and adherence to DOT, company, and industry safety regulations. Candidates should possess route planning and navigation skills, including trip planning for oversized loads, basic map-reading, and familiarity with GPS and electronic logging systems. Candidates should possess communication and customer service skills, including clear communication with dispatch, customers, and site personnel, and professional conduct at delivery and pickup locations. Candidates should possess time management and organizational skills, including managing schedules, maintaining logs and paperwork, and coordinating multiple deliveries efficiently. Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and experience in long-haul or heavy-haul trucking; prior experience hauling industrial or construction freight is preferred. Ability to meet all DOT medical and safety requirements and to perform physical tasks such as climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varying conditions.
