About the role LGX Freight Solutions is hiring a full-time Heavy Haul Dispatcher for our Humble, TX office. You'll assist our heavy haul and project cargo loads from booking to delivery: finding the right carrier and the right trailer, confirming the carrier has its oversize and overweight permits and escorts lined up, tracking the load mile by mile, and keeping the customer informed before they have to ask. About LGX We're a 4PL (fourth-party logistics provider) based in Humble, TX. We manage our clients' logistics end to end, including heavy haul and project cargo, ocean freight, air freight, and warehousing. We serve oil and gas, EPC, construction, and industrial clients domestically and internationally. What you'll do Load planning and carrier booking Review each load's dimensions, weight and pickup and delivery requirements, and confirm the right equipment: flatbed, step deck, double drop, RGN or specialized multi-axle Source and book heavy haul carriers from our carrier network and online, and negotiate rates within approved limits Book only carriers approved by our carrier compliance team. No rate confirmation goes out to a carrier that hasn't cleared compliance. Build and send rate confirmations, BOLs (bills of lading) and load paperwork with accurate dimensions, weights and special instructions O SOW (oversize and overweight) oversight Confirm the carrier has obtained permits for every state on the route, and that permit dimensions and weights match the actual load Confirm pilot car and escort requirements are booked by the carrier and scheduled for pickup Track travel restrictions that affect timing, including daylight only movement, weekend and holiday curfews, and weather holds Stop a load from dispatching when permits, escorts or equipment don't match the freight, and escalate right away Tracking and customer communication Run check calls with drivers and carriers from pickup through delivery Send proactive customer updates: pickup and delivery confirmations, ETAs, permit or escort delays, and exceptions Coordinate with shippers and receivers on loading and unloading, including crane, forklift and rigging availability at each end Work problem loads: breakdowns, detention, late pickups, permit corrections, reroutes and weather delays Closeout and records Collect signed PODs (proofs of delivery), note any damage or exceptions, and pass completed loads to billing Keep load records accurate and current in our system. Escalate loads, customers and claims that go beyond your authority, with the facts organized Hand off open loads cleanly at the end of each day, before PTO, and to the weekend desk on Fridays What we're looking for 2+ years of dispatch, freight brokerage or transportation coordination experience, with at least 1 year on flatbed, heavy haul or oversize freight Working knowledge of trailer types and when each is needed: flatbed, step deck, double drop, RGN and multi-axle Understanding of how OSOW permits, escorts and route surveys work, and what makes a permit wrong for a load Experience booking outside carriers and negotiating rates Comfortable with a TMS or dispatch software, load boards, email and spreadsheets Clear, professional written and verbal communication. Customers should never have to ask you for an update. Organized enough to keep multiple heavy loads straight at once, and willing to stop a load when something doesn't add up Able to work on-site in Humble, TX, Monday through Friday Authorized to work in the United States High school diploma or equivalent Nice to have Experience on the carrier side of heavy haul, as a fleet dispatcher, permit coordinator or driver Texas TxDMV permitting knowledge, or multi-state permitting experience Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA rules, including hours of service Experience with carrier vetting or reviewing a COI (certificate of insurance) Oil and gas, EPC or energy project freight experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) Schedule and location Monday through Frid…
