Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic
Pac Highway Trucking LTDJob Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and trucks used across industrial, construction, and agricultural operations. Your expertise will ensure that equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our fleet in top condition. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, electrical testing tools, and diagnostic software. Repair or replace faulty components including engines, hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and power tools. Conduct welding repairs and fabrication as needed to restore equipment functionality. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely to disassemble and reassemble machinery parts. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues involving industrial equipment operation or assembly. Experience Proven mechanic experience working with heavy machinery in a dealership or industrial environment. Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with excavator, crane, forklift operation and maintenance is essential. Knowledge of HVAC systems related to industrial equipment is a plus. Skilled in welding techniques and the use of schematics for electrical troubleshooting. Strong understanding of automotive repair principles applied to heavy-duty vehicles. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
