Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator/Truck Driver with a CDL to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of construction machinery and commercial trucks to support excavation, grading, utility work, and site development projects. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and precise operation of equipment while adhering to all safety regulations. Duties Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar machinery to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks. Drive commercial trucks to transport materials, equipment, and personnel safely across construction sites and between locations. Conduct routine maintenance and mechanical inspections of construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities using specialized tools and techniques to prevent damage during excavation. Follow federal construction safety regulations, equipment safety procedures, and site-specific safety protocols at all times. Support construction site activities by performing groundwork tasks including site clearing, leveling, and trenching under supervision. Maintain detailed records of equipment operation logs, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving and heavy equipment operation within a construction environment. Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment. Ability to operate loaders, excavators (including backhoe operation), and other construction machinery efficiently and safely. Knowledge of construction utility work including utility locating techniques to identify underground infrastructure accurately. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety regulations on-site. Skilled in construction grading, excavation techniques, and site preparation activities. Excellent understanding of equipment maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan. Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on utility installation or excavation projects is highly desirable.
