We've grown more than 200% over the last five years, and we're looking for a dependable, mechanically skilled person to take ownership of our shop operations and equipment preparation. We're a small, hands-on team. Everyone wears more than one hat, and everyone contributes to our success. The Opportunity We're looking for a hands-on heavy equipment mechanic who can also manage our shop and keep our forklift inventory ready for sale. This is a working shop management position, not a warehouse forklift operator position. You'll be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing used forklifts, as well as keeping our shop organized and equipment ready to show customers and deliver. You don't need to be a master mechanic, but you must already have practical mechanical repair experience. If you've worked on forklifts, tractors, bulldozers, construction equipment, or other heavy machinery, we'd like to talk to you. Your Primary Responsibilities Mechanical Service and Repairs Inspect incoming used forklifts and identify mechanical problems and service requirements. Troubleshoot and repair starting, running, lifting, hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical issues. Service propane, diesel, and electric forklifts based on your skills and experience. Inspect and maintain batteries, charging systems, drive motors, hydraulic systems, and other critical components. Perform scheduled maintenance and necessary repairs to prepare equipment for resale. Identify replacement parts and coordinate repairs with the ownership team. Verify that equipment functions safely and properly before being released for sale or delivery. Shop and Inventory Management Take responsibility for the daily organization, cleanliness, and overall condition of the shop. Keep forklift inventory charged, maintained, clean, and presentable. Coordinate washing, detailing, touch-up painting, and other equipment preparation as needed. Prioritize equipment preparation to keep inventory moving efficiently. Track equipment repair needs and readiness status. Maintain an orderly, safe, productive work environment. Load, unload, and move equipment when necessary. Team and Customer Support Work directly with our ownership team to prioritize shop responsibilities. Assist customers with basic equipment and service-related questions. Help with occasional paperwork, scheduling, and general operations. Take ownership of shop productivity and equipment readiness. Required Qualifications At least 1–2 years of hands-on mechanical repair or maintenance experience involving forklifts, tractors, construction equipment, heavy machinery, or related industrial equipment. Demonstrated experience diagnosing mechanical problems and performing actual repairs. Comfortable using mechanical hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with engines, hydraulics, electrical components, drive systems, or similar mechanical systems. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and complete work efficiently. Dependable, organized, and committed to doing quality work. Comfortable working in a small team where everyone pitches in.
