At Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) , we’re looking for a field specialist to keep utility fleets moving across Baltimore, Hagerstown, and Washington, DC . Is This You? Do you enjoy diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems in the field? Can you confidently tackle repairs on bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and service trucks—then road test to confirm the fix? Are you organized, great with documentation, and comfortable communicating solutions directly to customers? Do you want a remote, field-based role with a company-provided truck and steady work? What You’ll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, utility equipment, and trucks at customer sites. Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system repairs. Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to maximize uptime. Road test post-repair to ensure safety and performance. Document work thoroughly and communicate status updates with customers and internal teams. Independently manage service calls, time, and parts inventory in a company-provided service truck. Partner with the CTOS Field Service team to deliver consistent, high-quality support. What You Bring Experience as a Field Service, Heavy Equipment, Truck, or Utility Equipment Technician. Class B CDL required. Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field. Excellent organization, documentation, and time-management. Professional communication and customer service skills. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Willingness to travel throughout Baltimore, Hagerstown, and Washington, DC, with occasional overnight travel. Equipment & Tech You’ll Work With Diesel engines: Detroit Diesel, Cummins, PACCAR Diesel vehicles and box trucks: Ford, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, Isuzu, Hino Cranes, boom cranes, and aerial devices (bucket trucks) Boom trucks: Terex, Altec, Elliott, National Crane, Load King Digger derricks: Terex, Altec, Elliott Refuse and service trucks Perks & Benefits Remote, field-based role—work from home and dispatch to customer sites.
