Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic

Overview: Alloy Crane & Machinery is seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic to join our team on Blount Island in Jacksonville, FL. In this role you will perform a critical mission directly supporting the U.S. Navy. The ideal candidate will possess advanced troubleshooting skills for heavy equipment systems, comprehensive knowledge of diesel engines, and extensive experience in heavy hauling operations. Key Responsibilities: System Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and computer failures on heavy equipment and cranes. Diesel Engine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, overhauls, and advanced repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines. Heavy Hauling: Safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy machinery and oversized equipment using semi-trucks and specialized trailers. Field Service Support: Operate a company service truck to perform on-site troubleshooting and emergency repairs efficiently. Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering strictly to OSHA, DOT, and military installation safety guidelines. Required Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic with a focus on diesel engines and complex system troubleshooting. License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Skills: Strong expertise in heavy hauling procedures including proper weight distribution and load-securing techniques. Access Requirements: Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearance for access to federal military installations.
