What You’ll Do
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment
• Meet with the Shop Foreman for daily assignments and work priorities
• Keep repairs moving efficiently by maintaining access to required parts, tools, and equipment
• Complete work orders accurately and on time, including mileage, operating hours, and repair information
• Communicate emergency repair needs to the Shop Foreman for proper prioritization
• Work with the team to complete repairs and minimize equipment downtime
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized
• Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
• 5+ years of maintenance experience working with heavy equipment and/or trailers/cranes
• At least 5 years of experience in two additional technical areas, such as hydraulics, electronics, or small engines
• High school diploma/GED plus diesel mechanic trade-school training or equivalent education
• Two years of technical/vocational school training and five years of hands-on repair experience
• Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to deliver results
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Travel & Availability
• Up to 50% travel may be required
• Must be available 24/7 for emergency repairs
• Must be willing to travel out of town and out of state
• Ability to work extended hours when operational needs require it
Physical Requirements
• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and lifting
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to handle items over 75 lbs. with assistance
