Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Overview Keep heavy equipment ready for the work ahead as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic. You’ll inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered construction machinery and industrial equipment, including manlifts, forklifts, air compressors, skid loaders, scissorlifts, etc . Your work will help operators and customers rely on safe, dependable equipment. Your impact: Accurate troubleshooting and timely repairs help equipment users return to work safely and with less disruption. Responsibilities Perform equipment maintenance and repair, including diesel engine repair, transmission, suspension, brake, air brake, tire, and vehicle maintenance. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using schematics, and electrical diagnostics. Service construction machinery and other equipment to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications; inspect alignment and complete assembly as needed. Use hand and power tools for repairs ;safely handle heavy lifting and equipment operation. Document maintenance and repair work, explain findings clearly, and provide responsive customer service. Experience Mechanic, diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or service technician experience. Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and construction equipment servicing. Experience with excavators, manlifts, forklifts, commercail and industrial equipment. Familiarity with electrical experience,and equipment repair is preferred. Ability to use tools and follow safety procedures; experience with heavy equipment operation is an advantage.
