Matt's Repair is looking for a skilled Heavy-Duty Truck Technician – Diesel Engines to join our established shop just north of Brandon, South Dakota. We have been in business for 20 years and service a wide variety of trucks, vehicles, and equipment. Much of our work involves Class 8 trucks, including Peterbilt and Kenworth, along with Caterpillar and Cummins diesel engines. Pay, Schedule & Benefits Competitive Pay: Starting at $30+ per hour, based on experience and quality of work Overtime Opportunities: 40+ hours of overtime available Consistent Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Health Benefits: Health and dental insurance, plus Aflac supplemental coverage Retirement: 401(k) plan Paid Holidays: All major holidays paid Work Uniforms: Uniforms and laundry service provided Annual Raises: Based on performance and quality of work Comfortable Shop: Air conditioning addition planned for spring 2026 Additional Opportunity: Option to operate the service truck, if interested Job Responsibilities As a Heavy-Duty Truck Technician, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines to keep vehicles operating safely and reliably. Responsibilities include: Diagnose and repair Class 8 heavy-duty trucks and diesel-powered equipment. Perform engine diagnostics, repairs, removals, and replacements. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, including Caterpillar and Cummins systems. Service and repair Peterbilt, Kenworth, and other heavy-duty vehicles. Perform mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and component replacements. Use diagnostic equipment and specialty tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Assist with mobile service calls when interested and needed. Qualifications We're looking for a technician with the skills and experience to handle a variety of heavy-duty diesel repairs. Previous experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks is required. Strong knowledge of Class 8 truck systems and diesel engine repair. Experience with Peterbilt, Kenworth, Caterpillar, and/or Cummins equipment is preferred. Experience with engine repair, engine swaps, and major mechanical repairs is highly valued. Must have your own mechanic's tools. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs independently. Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to quality workmanship.
