Heavy Duty Truck Mechanics & Lead Trailer Mechanic — Evening Shift

South West Bulk Express Inc. — Calgary, AB Full-time | 2:00 PM–10:00 PM | Evening shift premium South West Bulk Express Inc. is hiring four mechanics for our evening shift at our modern 9-bay Calgary shop. Join our team maintaining the trucks and trailers that support our Western Canadian dry-bulk operation. Shift hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. An evening shift premium is paid in addition to your base hourly rate. Journeyman / Red Seal Truck Mechanic — 1 Opening Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, electrical and air systems. Complete preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs. Identify mechanical issues and complete reliable, quality repairs. Support apprentices and maintain accurate work-order notes. Qualifications: Journeyman certification in the truck and transport trade or equivalent Red Seal certification. Strong diagnostic and repair skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Apprentice Truck Mechanics — 2 Openings Responsibilities: Assist with truck inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs. Complete assigned work under the guidance of experienced technicians. Develop technical skills while following safe work procedures. Maintain an organized workspace and clear work-order notes. Qualifications: Registered apprentice in second year or higher in a relevant heavy-duty truck trade. Hands-on experience servicing heavy-duty trucks. Willingness to learn, take direction and take ownership of assigned work. Lead Trailer Mechanic — 1 Opening Responsibilities: Lead evening trailer maintenance and repairs, organize work and set priorities. Diagnose and repair trailer brakes, suspension, air systems, electrical systems and other components. Perform CVIP inspections within your authorization and complete required documentation. Maintain workmanship standards and support other trailer technicians. Coordinate with the shop and operations teams to return equipment to service efficiently. Qualifications: Valid Alberta CVIP inspection authorization for trailers is required. Strong heavy-duty trailer inspection and repair experience. Ability to lead others, prioritize repairs and work independently. Experience with Super B pneumatic trailers and dry-bulk equipment is an asset.
