Heavy Duty Forklift Operator

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating industrial forklifts to manage specialized cargo, including oversized and sensitive equipment, with precision and safety. This role involves executing complex loading and unloading tasks, particularly with lowboy flatbed trailers, and demonstrating expertise in heavy-duty rigging and securing loads. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe handling and transportation of high-value assets within our operations. Duties Operate heavy industrial forklifts configured for handling oversized, high-value, and sensitive assets weighing between 5,000 lbs to 18,000 lbs+ (such as commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems / BESS). Execute precise loading, positioning, and unloading of specialized equipment onto lowboy flatbed trailers with expert skill. Manage lowboy flatbed cargo by ensuring accurate placement and securement of cargo during transit. Demonstrate mastery in industrial securing techniques, including structural load securing to prevent shifting or damage during transportation. Perform heavy-duty rigging and lifting operations safely, adhering to all safety protocols and operational standards. Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and rigging equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics and ensure timely delivery of cargo while maintaining safety standards. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy-duty industrial forklifts, particularly those configured for oversized or sensitive cargo. Demonstrated expertise in lowboy flatbed cargo management, including loading, unloading, and securing specialized equipment. Strong understanding of rigging techniques and load capacity management for high-value assets such as BESS systems. Ability to perform structural load securing with precision to ensure safe transportation of cargo. Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy machinery operation, cargo handling, and securement practices. Valid forklift operator certification/license preferred; relevant experience may substitute certification requirements. Excellent attention to detail, safety consciousness, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
