Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic Good2Go Trucking, Inc. – Fresno, California Pay: $34.00 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, IRA, Paid Holidays Position Overview Good2Go Trucking is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment. This position is ideal for an experienced mechanic who can work independently, take ownership of repairs, troubleshoot problems without constant supervision, and keep equipment moving. Our fleet includes equipment such as: Heavy-duty tractors Super dumps Transfer trucks Transfer trailers End dumps Low-bed trucks and trailers Other commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM . Because we operate a working trucking fleet, occasional early call-ins may be required when a truck or piece of equipment is down and needs immediate attention. Responsibilities The Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic will perform a broad range of maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work, including: Preventive maintenance and scheduled fleet services Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems Engine troubleshooting and repair Diesel emissions and aftertreatment system diagnosis Brake system inspection and repair Air brake diagnosis and repair Suspension and steering repairs Electrical troubleshooting, wiring, charging, and starting system repair Hydraulic system diagnosis and repair Trailer repair and maintenance Welding and fabrication Tire and wheel-related repairs and inspections Drivetrain and driveline repair Cooling system repair Air system diagnosis and repair DOT-related vehicle inspection and repair items Emergency and unscheduled breakdown repairs Field repairs when necessary Maintaining accurate repair and maintenance records Identifying developing mechanical problems before they result in breakdowns Keeping the work area, tools, parts, and shop organized Communicating equipment status and repair needs with dispatchers, drivers, and management The mechanic will be expected to prioritize repairs based on operational needs and help ensure that trucks are repaired safely and returned to service efficiently. Qualifications Required: Minimum 4 years of professional heavy-duty truck, diesel, fleet, or closely related mechanical experience Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability Experience with heavy-duty truck and trailer systems Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities Ability to work effectively with drivers, dispatchers, management, and other employees Good verbal communication skills Valid California Class C driver's license with a driving record acceptable under company and insurance requirements Ability to supply basic personal mechanic's tools Dependable attendance and ability to report to work as scheduled Willingness to respond to occasional early call-ins for downed equipment Preferred: California Class A CDL ASE certifications Heavy-duty diesel electrical diagnostic experience Welding and fabrication experience Hydraulic troubleshooting experience Experience working with vocational trucks, dump trucks, tractors, transfer trucks and trailers, end dumps, and low-bed equipment ASE certification is preferred but not required . Tools & Equipment The mechanic is expected to provide their own basic hand tools and normal mechanic's tools . Good2Go will provide specialty tools and equipment required for specialized fleet repairs. A company service truck is expected to be provided as the position develops , based on operational requirements and responsibilities.
