Tyler IndustriesJob Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and construction vehicles. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and mechanical knowledge. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and fluid checks to keep equipment in optimal condition. Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or enhance equipment performance. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to troubleshoot issues or perform repairs on-site or in the shop. Utilize power tools and diagnostic software to identify faults accurately; interpret schematics for complex mechanical systems repair. Assist with assembly and disassembly of heavy machinery during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring timely completion of work orders. Qualifications Proven experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive electrical systems, HVAC systems in vehicles, and diesel engine repair. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of working with hand tools and power tools efficiently. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot complex vehicle systems using diagnostic tools. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignment, and tire service.
