Heavy-Duty Commercial Mechanic / Fleet Technician

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy-Duty Commercial Mechanic / Fleet Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operational goals and customer commitments. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, , Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system servicing to maximize equipment lifespan. Repair and overhaul mechanical systems such as transmissions, engines (including diesel engines), air brakes, steering components, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems. Utilize power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and hand tools to execute repairs and fabrication projects efficiently. Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot automotive electrical systems and vehicle systems for trucks and farm machinery. Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed inspection reports, and document all repairs performed in compliance with safety standards. Assist with heavy equipment operation during maintenance tasks requiring heavy lifting or specialized handling. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair and industrial equipment maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles including tractors-trailers, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical system repair, hydraulics, suspension alignment, and transmission overhaul. Skilled in reading schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical systems to accurately diagnose issues. Experience with welding, fabrication, tire service, HVAC systems repair, and general equipment assembly. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely for maintenance or repair purposes; familiarity with heavy equipment operation standards. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients about repair needs and maintenance schedules.
