ConfidentialHeavy Diesel Mechanic – Private Dump Truck Fleet We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our small, privately operated fleet of dump trucks. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently and independently, and understands the importance of keeping trucks safe, reliable, and operational. Key Responsibilities: - Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on company dump trucks. - Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air brake system issues. - Monitor fluid levels, identify and repair air or fluid leaks, and address maintenance concerns. - Repair or replace components, including transmissions, HVAC systems, brakes, and tires. - Perform welding and fabrication as needed. - Ensure trucks meet applicable SCDOT and federal safety regulations. - Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and inspection reports. Qualifications & Skills: - Previous experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, preferably with dump trucks or other heavy-duty commercial vehicles. - Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics. - Experience with transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, tire service, etc. - Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. - Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and manage maintenance responsibilities efficiently.
