The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy diesel engines and equipment. This role requires expertise in diesel engine repair, heavy truck repair, and mechanical systems maintenance. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will also perform tire services, welding, and repairs on various heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety across all operations. Duties Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines used in heavy trucks and equipment. Conduct mechanical system repairs including engine components, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems. Service and repair heavy equipment such as construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and other industrial vehicles. Carry out tire services including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and replacing tires on heavy trucks and equipment. Utilize welding skills to repair or fabricate parts as needed for various machinery. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs and inspections performed. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist in preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Skills Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with a focus on heavy trucks and equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and mechanical systems. Proficiency in welding techniques relevant to heavy machinery repairs. Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues efficiently. Skilled in tire service for commercial vehicles and heavy equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to document repairs accurately and collaborate with team members. Has a clean driving record and a valid D.L Is available to work nights and weekends.
