Position Summary The Head Overnight Stocker is responsible for leading overnight stocking operations to ensure the store is fully stocked, merchandised, organized, and ready for business each day. This position supervises overnight stockers, coordinates workload distribution, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports operational excellence through effective leadership, safety compliance, and customer readiness. Key Responsibilities Overnight Operations Lead and coordinate nightly stocking activities throughout the store. Ensure freight is unloaded, sorted, stocked, and merchandised according to company standards. Monitor productivity and workflow to ensure timely completion of overnight tasks. Verify shelves, displays, and endcaps are properly stocked and faced. Ensure the sales floor is customer-ready prior to store opening. Team Leadership Provide direction, coaching, and support to overnight stocking associates. Assign daily workloads and monitor completion of assigned tasks. Train associates on stocking procedures, safety practices, and company standards. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Assist with associate performance feedback and development. Inventory Management Monitor inventory levels and identify out-of-stock conditions. Ensure accurate product placement and shelf replenishment. Assist with inventory counts and audit processes as required. Support shrink reduction efforts through proper product handling and inventory control practices. Communicate inventory concerns to store leadership. Merchandising Standards Ensure products are stocked according to planograms and merchandising guidelines. Maintain clean, organized aisles and storage areas. Verify pricing labels, shelf tags, and promotional signage are accurate and visible. Support seasonal and promotional merchandising initiatives. Safety and Compliance Follow and enforce company safety policies and procedures. Ensure safe operation of pallet jacks, forklifts, and stocking equipment as authorized. Maintain clear aisles, exits, and work areas. Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and operational hazards promptly. Uphold all company policies and operational standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous grocery, retail stocking, warehouse, or supervisory experience preferred. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and inventory management skills. Ability to operate material handling equipment as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout extended work shifts. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds. Ability to work overnight hours and maintain productivity during non-traditional schedules. Frequent use of ladders, pallet jacks, carts, and other stocking equipment.
