Head of Procurement

We are seeking an energetic and strategic Head of Procurement to lead our procurement operations and drive excellence across all sourcing activities. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process, develop and implement category management strategies, and foster strong vendor relationships to ensure the organization’s supply chain remains robust, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory standards. Your leadership will empower cross-functional teams to achieve operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and integrity. Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier diversity. Lead procurement contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms while managing risk and compliance with procurement regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Oversee vendor contract management and supplier relationship management to optimize performance, pricing, and delivery timelines. Manage procurement activities using advanced ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and E-procurement platforms to streamline purchasing workflows. Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, logistics, quality assurance, finance, and project management teams to coordinate procurement efforts that support production planning and materials management. Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions or procurement issues to implement corrective actions swiftly. Ensure adherence to procurement regulatory standards while maintaining transparency and integrity in all sourcing processes. Qualifications 3+ years of procurement / supply chain experience. Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation. Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or federal sectors with a strong understanding of public sector purchasing regulations. Demonstrated expertise in SAP, Oracle EBS, ERP systems, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and e-procurement systems. Extensive vendor contract management experience with a focus on negotiation, sourcing, and category management. Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including logistics, materials management, production planning, and quality control. Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. Familiarity with procurement regulatory frameworks such as FAR or equivalent standards is highly desirable. Exceptional negotiation skills combined with analytical capabilities for root cause analysis and strategic sourcing initiatives.
