CHIEF DISTRIBUTION OFFICER SEARCH | PROPERTY CATASTROPHE Finpro are leading a confidential search for a Chief Distribution Officer for a genuinely differentiated insurance business: an AI native carrier built specifically for the Property Catastrophe market. The business is building what is believed to be the first carrier of its kind, designed from the ground up around AI, data and technology rather than adapting these capabilities onto a traditional insurance infrastructure. Its proposition is fundamentally different in how Property Cat risk is understood, selected, priced and distributed, with AI embedded at the core of the underwriting and operating model. The next stage is to build the distribution engine. The opportunity We are looking for a senior Property Cat distribution leader who can define how an AI native carrier goes to market and build the relationships, channels and commercial infrastructure required to scale. The successful candidate is likely to come from a senior role in Property Cat or reinsurance, with a track record across distribution, broking, underwriting, commercial leadership or building strategic partnerships. Deep relationships across the global Property Cat market will be important, but so will the ability to think differently about how insurance capacity can be distributed in a technology led model. The mandate The CDO will own the distribution strategy and be responsible for translating the carrier’s differentiated technology and underwriting proposition into market adoption and premium growth. This will include: • Defining the global distribution strategy • Building relationships with leading brokers, cedants, MGAs and other distribution partners • Developing new distribution channels and strategic partnerships • Creating a market proposition that makes an AI native carrier compelling to brokers and clients • Working closely with underwriting, product, technology and capital teams • Building the distribution organisation and operating model • Developing a scalable pipeline of premium and strategic accounts • Acting as a senior ambassador for the business across the Property Cat ecosystem Why this role The insurance industry has spent years applying technology and AI to individual parts of the value chain. This business has taken a different approach: building the carrier around AI from day one. That creates a unique distribution opportunity. The CDO will help determine how an AI native carrier earns trust, wins distribution and builds a new market proposition within one of the world's most sophisticated insurance markets. We are particularly interested in individuals who combine deep Property Cat credibility, exceptional market relationships and entrepreneurial commercial instincts. This is not simply a distribution leadership role. It is an opportunity to help shape how a new generation of insurance carrier reaches the market. Profile We are looking for someone with significant Property Cat market experience who has the credibility to engage with senior brokers, cedants, reinsurers and capital providers. You will need to understand the mechanics and economics of Property Cat deeply, while also being comfortable challenging established distribution models and building something new. Most importantly, you will need to believe that technology and AI can fundamentally change how insurance is created and distributed.
