Head of Contract Logistics Location: Remote — Candidates must be based in Quad Cities, Chicago/Joliet, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, or Des Moines Schedule: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Compensation: $105,000-$115,000 base + $200/month car allowance + uncapped commission based on gross profit Travel: Travel to warehouse and customer locations as needed Important Location Requirement This is a remote position, but candidates must currently live in one of the following approved markets: Quad Cities Chicago/Joliet Indianapolis St. Louis Kansas City Des Moines This geographic requirement is based on the need for the person in this role to travel to the warehouse and meet with customers as needed. The specific warehouse location will be based on the candidate's approved market. Candidates located outside of these areas will not be considered. About the Opportunity: Our client is seeking a Head of Contract Logistics to lead the strategy, commercial growth, and overall performance of its U.S. contract logistics business. This is a broad leadership role that sits across business development, solution design, customer management, operational governance, and financial performance . The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in 3PL, contract logistics, warehousing, or supply chain, along with a proven track record of winning and closing significant logistics opportunities. This role is particularly well suited for someone who understands both sides of the business — how to develop and sell the right logistics solution and how to ensure that solution performs operationally and financially. As the first U.S.-based leader dedicated to this function, this person will have significant autonomy and ownership in helping establish the strategy and direction of the U.S. contract logistics business. What You'll Do: Own the strategy and growth plan for the U.S. contract logistics business Drive new business development and build relationships with enterprise B2B customers Identify and pursue opportunities across industries, geographies, and service offerings Lead large 3PL and contract logistics opportunities from solution development through contract execution Lead RFQs, RFPs, tenders, pricing discussions, and commercial negotiations Develop customized logistics solutions based on customer requirements, operating models, and service expectations Build and manage long-term enterprise customer relationships Identify opportunities for customer retention, expansion, and additional service offerings Oversee warehouse and logistics performance, including service levels, KPIs, and continuous improvement Partner with operational and offshore teams to ensure solutions are commercially viable and operationally effective Own or oversee pricing, profitability, margins, and cost optimization Maintain responsibility for the financial performance of the contract logistics business Develop recommendations and make strategic decisions with a high degree of independence Work across sales, solutioning, operations, and leadership to build and scale the U.S. business Meet with customers and visit warehouse locations as needed What We're Looking For: 10+ years of experience in 3PL, contract logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or a closely related field Strong understanding of multi-client warehouse and contract logistics operations Experience working across the broader contract logistics business rather than only one functional area Proven track record of winning and closing large 3PL or contract logistics deals Strong solution-selling experience, including developing customized logistics solutions for customers Experience leading RFQs, RFPs, tenders, and commercial negotiations Demonstrated success building and managing enterprise-level B2B customer relationships Experience with pricing, commercial models, account expansion, and new business development Previous client/customer-facing experience in a B2B environment Strong understanding of P&L, profitability, mar…
