Store Manager - Lumber & Hardware Store We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Store Manager to lead our business to success! The Store Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations of a lumber and hardware store, including sales performance, staff supervision, inventory management, customer service, and store profitability. This role ensures the store operates efficiently while delivering a high level of service to both retail customers and contractors. Experience in retail and construction are ideal, as the Store Manager will need product knowledge to complete orders and quotes for customer and contractors. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and passionate about retail management, with a knack for motivating others and delivering results. Key Responsibilities Store Operations - Oversee day-to-day operations including opening/closing procedures, sales, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. Ensure proper stocking, pricing, and merchandising of products Handle purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and inventory management to maximize profitability. Manage deliveries and vendor relationships Develop marketing initiatives and promotional strategies to attract customers and increase sales. Staff Leadership & Management Schedule, supervise, and lead store employees Create a positive and productive team environment Handle employee concerns and enforce company policies Customer Service Provide excellent customer service to homeowners, contractors, and builders Assist customers with product selection, especially lumber, tools, and building materials Resolve customer complaints quickly and professionally Build long-term relationships with repeat customers and local contractors Qualifications Retail management experience preferred with knowledge of inventory management systems and sales tracking Knowledge of lumber, tools, fasteners, and construction materials Strong leadership and team-management skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to lift heavy materials and work in both indoor and outdoor environments Work Environment Retail store and outdoor lumber yard Fast-paced environment with physical activity Weekend and seasonal work required Pay: $80,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Relocation assistance Work Location: In person
