Are you ready to take off on your next career with us?Job SummaryAs a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for essential ramp service tasks, including loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling aircraft, and performing water servicing. A focus on safety and attention to detail is crucial. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.Compensation Rate: $23.50 per hourEmployment Status: Part-TimeWatch Our Team in Action: Day In The Life Ground HandlingResponsibilitiesMarshall aircraft upon arrival and departure.Load and unload cargo and baggage on and off aircraft.Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs to pick-up and deliver cargo between the terminal, bagroom and aircraft.Perform ground service functions, such as connecting/removing ground power and ground start units and water service.Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking and related guide man functions.Maintain a secure work environment.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED equivalentAbility to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo (up to 50 lbs or more)Valid Driver's license, must be maintained throughout employment in this roleStrong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crewsFlexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nightsBasic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipmentAbility to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulationsAttention to detail and a commitment to safety protocolsFluently read, write, and speak the English languageThis job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.Preferred SkillsPrevious experience in aviation or ground handling operationsFamiliarity with aircraft types and airport layoutKnowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the airport environmentExperience operating ground support equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and forkliftsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressureExcellent teamwork and interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleaguesAbility to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentBasic computer skills for completing paperwork and using scheduling systemsStrong customer service orientation and a positive attitude toward passenger interactionsPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsAbility to lift, push, pull cargo up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 75 lbsFrequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the airport terminal or warehouseAbility to bend, kneel, stoop, and clim
