Grocery DSD Delivery Driver

Must have grocery DSD delivering experience. Must have truck and trailer or box truck to make deliveries. This is a 1099 position. Paid 12% commission on deliveries. Weekly average for this route is 10,000 in deliveries. This is a candy route that covers all of Fulton and Dekalb Counties. Must pass drug test and background check will be run. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Grocery DSD (Direct Store Delivery) Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering grocery products efficiently and safely to retail stores and customers, ensuring timely arrivals and maintaining excellent customer service. Your energy and commitment will help us keep shelves stocked and customers satisfied. Responsibilities Safely operate box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles for delivery routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, unload, and secure grocery products using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks. Execute accurate deliveries by following predefined routes using mobile devices or route planning tools, ensuring on-time arrivals at each destination. Manually lift heavy boxes and pallets, practicing safe lifting practices to prevent injury while managing weight handling in the workplace. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with store personnel and customers during deliveries, addressing questions or concerns courteously. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and vehicle maintenance schedules. Complete delivery documentation accurately, including logs of load & unload activities, delivery confirmations, and incident reports if necessary. Experience Prior experience in delivery driving within a warehouse or retail environment is preferred. Demonstrated ability to operate commercial trucks, box trucks, or vans with manual transmission is highly desirable. Experience with warehouse operations, including material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks or forklifts, is a plus. Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace is essential. Familiarity with DOT regulations and adherence to traffic laws during route driving is required. Proven track record of providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced delivery setting is beneficial. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) or courier experience is advantageous.
