What The Job Is CPI is looking for someone who is positive, outgoing, upbeat and a natural leader. The ideal candidate will be quick to connect with others and able to establish and maintain working relationships while leading a team each day to be successful. The Grain Operations Supervisor will lead and supervise second-shift employees, assigning work, monitoring performance, and promoting teamwork and accountability. This person will be responsible for maintaining the utmost safety of all persons entering the facilities and assure that all safety policies and procedures are followed at all times. CPI is a safety minded company thus such policies must be followed. The Grain Operations Supervisor will oversee grain receiving, storage, drying, conditioning, handling and loadout activities during the assigned second-shift hours as well as monitor grain quality, condition and inventory through proper aeration, inventory rotation and grain management practices. In addition, this person will monitor facilities and grain handling equipment, coordinate preventative maintenance and conduct routine inspections, training documentation, audits and incident reporting. High School Diploma and/or GED is required. Second-shift hours are required. Previous grain handling, agricultural, manufacturing, mechanical or related experience is preferred. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA requirements and regulatory standards. Ability to adapt to changing situations, speak before groups of customers and/or employees of the organization as well as read, write and speak English. Strong problem-solving skills are a must. Ability to work independently and with a team. Identify and address unsafe conditions, equipment concerns and operational issues in a timely manner. Lead assigned housekeeping duties inside and outside of the location and warehouse to keep all areas clean, orderly and safe. Develop and maintain proficiency in CPI’s computer systems and operational software.
