Basic Function:

The Government Inventory and Property Coordinator supports all aspects of government inventory and property management and the implementation and control of all related processes and functions.

Receives specific assignments with periodic supervision.

Work performed:
  • Understand the contractual requirements of government property and how to put them in place
  • Ensure compliance with procedures to control, protect, conserve and maintain government property
  • Produce and transmit periodic physical inventory, non-compliance or other reports to government officials
  • Called upon to represent MDA to government officials at meetings or audits
  • Validate and update item and storage parameters
  • In collaboration with various operations and finance teams, coordinate and execute tasks related to transfers, inventory accuracy, rotational inventory and WIP inventory.
  • Carry out transactions related to equipment in quarantine or to be destroyed
  • Manage time-limited items to ensure that there are no shortages, waste and obsolete materials in stock
  • Participate in project closing activities
  • Suggest and participate in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to good inventory management practices.
  • Combine and transmit information about the controlled equipment
  • Assist the Senior Inventory Controller in his tasks and represent him as required

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Good knowledge of the Office suite
  • Good understanding of product BOM concepts, planning concepts and ERP system
  • Sense of urgency
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Commitment and responsibility
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Customer orientation (internal and external)
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to process detailed documentation and data accurately

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Operations Management (preferred) or Commercial Sciences

Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in an inventory management or material planning environment. A combination of relevant experience/education could be considered

Linguistic Level: Communication skills in both French and English required.(Work in collaboration with the staff at the Ontario headquarters.)

 

Special Considerations :

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
