Global Sourcing Manager - Handbags and Accessories

Location: Framingham, Massachusetts Job Type: Contract Compensation Range: $40 - 45 per hour Our client is seeking an experienced, analytical, and strategic Global Sourcing Manager to support the Handbags & Accessories division. This individual will serve as the central point of communication across offshore vendors, agents, internal merchants, and product development teams to build and drive high-impact sourcing and negotiation strategies. In this role, you will leverage retail math, supply chain inputs, and global market intelligence to optimize vendor matrix performance, secure target margins, ensure 100% costing dataset accuracy, and manage supplier health across international manufacturing partners. Responsibilities: Negotiation Strategy & Margin Execution: Lead the creation and execution of seasonal negotiation strategies to achieve the optimal product mix while meeting or exceeding target profit margins. Supplier Evaluation & Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and monitor global vendors and suppliers based on technical capabilities, factory capacity, pricing/value, and overall financial health. Vendor Matrix Strategy: Partner closely with internal Business Units to develop and drive "grow/maintain/shrink" strategies across the vendor base, continuously monitoring results and pivoting based on shifting market needs. Costing & Data Integrity: Maintain all costing datasets and related reporting metrics to ensure complete accuracy, timeliness, and visibility for cross-functional stakeholders. Market Intelligence & Strategic Analytics: Synthesize complex data inputs-including manufacturing order history, supply chain lead times, macroeconomics, logistics timing, and sustainability regulations-into actionable business strategies. Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Global Sourcing, Merchandising, Business, Finance, or equivalent professional industry experience. Industry Expertise: 7-10+ years of progressive experience in global sourcing, vendor management, pre/post-production, or product development within Handbags, Accessories, or Apparel (offshore vendor management experience highly preferred). Advanced Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, complex financial formulas, and custom data modeling). Analytical & Retail Math Mastery: Strong background in retail math, margin analysis, costing breakdowns, and supply chain logistics timing (international commerce rules, import/export regulations, and macroeconomics). Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills-able to unify and clearly convey complex strategic concepts to cross-functional leaders and external vendors. Project Management & Adaptability: Self-starter capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
